I enjoy Secret Circle.   A Lot. I am also under the impression that is an unpopular opinion. So have some commentary...

First, I agree with some analysis that Cassie needs to be developed a little more as the lead. And I'd also like to see the stakes amplified a bit. But all things considered, I think the season is doing very well slowly unspooling mythology. (Though that mythology also needs some additional development in increase the stakes. An ancient prophecy or two wouldn't hurt...) But the strength of the show is the many GIRL CHARACTERS. Particularly Faye, Melissa & Diana.   I like that the show is starting out with so many girls with interesting relationships. Faye is particularly wonderful and vampy and self-interested. Melissa is vulnerable and lonely, and Diana is flat out awesome and surprisingly non-jealous.

And I know I"m in the miniority on this one, but I like Jake a lot too. And the new Voo Doo guy Lee.    On the other hand, I've never been a Thomas Dekker fan, and do believe that Adam is the weakest link.

So, to sum up. More girls. More mythology and less Cassie/Adam, and I'm good. :)
